What is Lip Micropigmentation (Lip Blush)?
Lip Micropigmentation (alternatively referred to as Lip Blush. Lip Blushing, Lip Tattoo or Permanent Lipstick) is a specialist aesthetic treatment that uses equipment similar to a conventional tattoo device to insert colour pigment (of the client’s preference) into the dermis of the lips, resulting in fuller and more defined lips.
Professional Lip micropigmentation can also be used to correct minor symmetry flaws, conceal scars, and increase the volume of the lips by as much as 30%.
Lip blush tattoo pigments are weaker than conventional tattoo inks, resulting in a subtle flush of colour rather than a deeply saturated tattoo.
Lip blush can be used to improve lips that are too pale or dark in tone, as well as to add pigment to areas of the lips that are missing in colour. The edges surrounding the mouth are frequently absent of colour, once the pigment is applied, the lips appear fuller in volume and structure.

How long does Lip Micropigmentation last?
With good aftercare and retouch sessions, this treatment can last between 1-2 years; however, because everyone’s body chemistry and lifestyle are different, the longevity of this treatment will vary.
Is Lip Micropigmentation tattooing painful?
The most common sentiment, however, is “it’s not quite as bad as I imagined.” The strongest sensation you will most likely have is at the beginning. To put it in context, it is similar to microblading, the topical numbing treatment used for your lip blush session is effective at reducing discomfort.
We apply numbing agent 30 minutes before we start working on you. This alleviates any minor discomfort during your treatment. Having said that, some customers have reported minor discomfort from time to time.
What happens during the treatment?
So, what happens during the treatment? First, there’s lip preparation. For the first 10 – 20 minutes, a topical anaesthetic is then used to numb the lips. Following that, we will draw the shape of the “new” lips for you to evaluate and make any necessary changes.
In general, I like to make the cupid’s bow more pronounced and add fullness to the sides of the lips, as the natural colour is sometimes lost in those areas. once the client is satisfied with the shape and pigment, we then start the micropigmentation process.
The procedure takes an hour to two hours, this depends on the look you want to accomplish. After the appointment, your lips may be swollen. On the day, we will guide you through all the necessary aftercare needs.

I’ve had both lip filler and semi-permanent makeup on my lips, both by Kirsty. She’s amazing at what she does! She explains everything you could think of before the treatment and answers any questions you have. The salon is exceptionally clean and tidy. I felt so comfortable getting my treatments and am so so happy with them, I would definitely go back for more when needed, I love that she tells me what she’s doing throughout the treatment. Can’t wait to get myself booked in again soon!!

Absolutely love my new lips! Kirsty was amazing from start to finish, patient and professional. I was very apprehensive but unhappy with my lip shape. My friend recommended me to Kirsty after months of me putting it off I finally went and had micropigmentation on my lips! I met Kirsty and she is so lovely and friendly and super professional she explains everything to you and shows you her equipment so you know it’s all 100% clean and in working order!
She told me what she was doing throughout the treatment which was really reassuring and comforting! Kirsty is really gentle considering I had such a sensitive part of face treated, it was a very minimal pain which is expected of course. When the treatment was finished she then explained the entire after care process. I would really recommend going to Kirsty for treatments especially if it your first time having anything done. Kirsty made me feel really comfortable about the whole thing! Will definitely be going to her again.
